Even More

Abundance is defined as the state of having more than enough..  Does anyone here ever feel as if they have more than enough?  More than enough bills maybe, and more than enough worries and more than enough to do…but, many of us live as if Scarcity was the law of the Universe.

Just the opposite is true, We live in an Abundant Universe.  But, somehow, we have inherited myths about scarcity.  Maybe when we were told to share as children, we interpreted it to mean that there is not enough to go around. When we see our world as deficient, everything reflects that. What we SEE in life, is what we get. It’s time to replace the scarcity mentality with sufficiency thinking. I like the word sufficiency. Just enough – not too much and not too little.  Enough to enjoy life, enough to have all your needs and wants met. Do you know what would be sufficient for you?  It’s a good exercise to figure it out.

There’s a great story that illustrates this-  set at Christmas time,  the message is timeless.

I was doing some last minute shopping in a toy store and decided to look at Barbie dolls for my niece. A nicely dressed little girl was excitedly looking through the
Barbie dolls as well, with a roll of money clamped tightly in her little hand. When she came upon a Barbie she liked, she would turn and ask her father if she had enough money to buy it. He usually said yes, but she would keep looking and keep going though their ritual of do I have enough. A little boy wandered in across the aisle and was sorting through the Pokemon toys. He was dressed neatly, but in clothes that were obviously rather worn, and probably a couple of sizes too small. He had money in his hand, -no more than five dollars or so at the most. He was with his father as well, and kept picking up the Pokemon video toys. Each time he picked one up and looked at his father, his father shook his head no.

The little girl had chosen her Barbie, a beautifully dressed glamorous doll that would have been the envy of every girl in the block when she had stopped and was watching the interchange between the little boy and his father. Rather dejectedly, the boy had given up on the video games and had chosen what looked like a book of stickers instead. He and his father then started walking through another aisle of the store. The little girl put her Barbie back on the shelf, and ran over to the Pokemon games. She excitedly picked up one and raced toward the check-out, after speaking with her father.

I got in line behind them. Much to the little girl’s obvious delight, the little boy and his father got in line behind me. After the toy was paid for and bagged, the little girl handed it back to the cashier, and whispered something in her ear. The cashier smiled and put the package under the counter. I was rearranging thing in my purse, when the little boy came up to the cashier who rang up his purchases and said, “Congratulations, you are my hundredth customer today, and win a prize”. With that, she handed the little boy the Pokemon game, and he could only stare in disbelief. It was, he said, exactly what he had wanted.

The little girl and her father had been standing at the doorway, and I saw the biggest, prettiest, toothless grin on that little girl that I have ever seen in my life. Then they walked out the door, and I followed, close behind them. As I walked back to my car, in amazement, I heard the father ask his daughter why she had done that. “Daddy, didn’t Nana and PawPaw want me to buy something that would make me happy”? He said “Of course they did,” and with that she giggled and started skipping toward their car.

She had decided she had the answer to her question “Do I have enough?”

COMPLETION What is it? How do I do it?

Friday, February 16th, 2007

Before you can begin anything new, you have to complete the old. The Past – what we did, didn’t do, should have done, did poorly or wrongly – is always with us in some way.  You are not your past, yet may still be living as if you are. One of the main messages from all Religious traditions is to LIVE IN THE NOW.  One way to begin to do that is by completing the past.

I once heard that there are only 3 things which really hold a person back in life; unmet needs,  insufficient distinctions/language  and being incomplete.  Being complete at all times is a skill worth mastering.

“We spend our lives doing what we are incomplete about.”

What are some of the reasons to do Spring/Fall Cleaning  or to complete?

Lack of completion in any area of our lives takes ENERGY away from us … it lowers our self-esteem to have projects unfinished. Incompletions dominate our lives until they are known and resolved.

People often choose profession based on where they suffered in life  (therapists, healers, financial planners, Ministers?? Hmmm )… Who knows… We all spend some part of our day engaged in activities which no longer have any bearing whatsoever on what we want to do.

Most people survive these incompletions, but in every instance, there is a cost.  Because the natural state of human being is BALANCE,  WHOLENESS and INTEGRITY, we lose power and energy when we are incomplete.

Proof?  Virtually everyone feels much better after having cleaned out a closet, or when a course is complete or a major project is finished.

First we need to complete our PAST – if that’s not already done…but, then we need to master the skill of being complete about everything as it occurs..

That would give us virtually boundless and healthy energy.  We wouldn’t have our juice sucked up by the known and unknown stuff to which we have become accustomed.

Let’s be real here – we’ll always have some Incompletions in our lives – and rarely is someone fully complete about past trauma such as losing a loved one or even some childhood damage.  The point here, though, is that you can substantially enhance your well-being energy level and effectiveness by being more complete.

I’m certainly not talking about being manic about being complete all the time.  Life is MESSY by nature.  Go with the flow, but always get complete about the things or situations that you know will bug you later.  Don’t step over anything.

WHAT ARE INCOMPLETIONS? And where do they come from?  Incompletions are events which have occurred in our lives that passed by without our having done what was necessary to be complete (as in satisfied, handled fully, responded powerfully) about.
Examples are as follows:
Not taking out the trash when it was full yesterday.

Not stopping someone from saying things that hurt you

Doing something you considered wrong or not right

Not going for a goal that you really wanted but were afraid to go for.

There are six signs of being incomplete:
REGRET, REMORSE; SHAME; ANGER; DENIAL and continuing SADNESS.

What is a recurring problem you have individually?
Collectively?  Why does it keep coming back?
What is the COMPLETE WORK you could do to have it complete forever. Do it!! PLEASE.. NOW.  IT is costing too much.

“The Secret” continues - this Friday on Oprah

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

Okay, folks - it’s official - Oprah is bringing back Dr. Michael and James Ray this Friday because she got such rave reviews that the ratings went off the charts.  YEAH.

The Law of Attraction is catching on - the world is learning responsibility in creation.  Let’s visualize EVERYONE getting the message and learning to create the life of their dreams.  If we all did, war would end; poverty would end - Life would truly begin.

“The Secret” continues on Oprah

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

I just got word from reliable sources that Oprah is having another taping with Dr. Michael Beckwith and James Ray this week — Valentine’s day - wednesday, Feb. 14th — to be aired SHORTLY. The tentative date to air is this coming Friday - but check first with oprah.com or your local listings.

I love the DVD “The Secret” - especially the original one with Esther Hicks (I have both - but you can only get the original now on ebay or Amazon). AND - I thought that in some instances, the message could be misleading. You have to read between the lines to recognize that many of our beliefs are unconscious and therefore hidden from us. And, on Oprah, there was more of a stress on things like taking appropriate action and forgiveness - two important aspects to allowing the Law to work in our lives.

If you are not yet on my LIST - to get more info on how to use the Law of Attraction - and some of the techniques I have discovered and use, go to http://www.FreeInspirationalMessages.com and sign up now.

Keep me posted on YOUR experience of using the Law. Comment here now.

Managing CHANGE: the Wind in your Face

Friday, February 9th, 2007

A young man, with more money than sense, buys the hottest, fastest, most expensive sports car available — a Ferrari GTO — and takes it out for a spin. He stops at a light, and an old man on a moped pulls up next to him. “What kind of car ya’ got there, sonny?” “A brand new Ferrari GTO. It cost a quarter of a million dollars!” “That’s a lot of money”. “Why does it cost so much?” “Because it’s the hottest, fastest car there is - it can do up to 320 miles per hour!” “Mind if I look inside?” “No problem.” The old man leans into the window as far as he can and looks around, then sitting back said, “That’s pretty slick, all right!”

Just then the light changes. The young man decides to show the old man just what his car can do. He floors it, and within 30 seconds the speedometer reads 160 mph. Suddenly, he notices a dot in his rear view mirror. It seems to be getting closer and then suddenly . . . hhhooooosssshhh! Something whips by him, going much faster!

“What on earth could be going faster than my Ferrari?!” the young man thinks. Then, ahead of him, he sees a small dot coming straight toward him. Whooooosh! It goes by again, heading in the opposite direction! “Couldn’t be.” “How could a man on a moped outrun a Ferrari?” But again, he sees a dot in his rear view mirror. Whoooosh, Kabbbblaaammm! It plows into the back of the car, demolishing the rear end.

The young man jumps out of the car and sees - it IS the old man! He runs up to him lying on the concrete and says, “Oh, dear - Is there anything I can do?” The old man wheeses, “Young feller, could you unhook my suspenders from your side-view mirror?”

Sometimes in life, you can feel just like the old man. The faster you move forward, the more the wind blows against your face. Encountering difficulty and resistance? It’s because you’re making significant progress. Those who have no problems never venture to accomplish anything. Those who face the most challenges, often create the most value. When a particular problem arises, it’s because you have progressed to the point where you can deal with it and are ready for where it can bring you. See obstacles as gateways, that’s their true value. Each new challenge is a stepping stone to meaningful accomplishment. So, feel the stiff wind as it blows against your face. You’re feeling your rapid movement forward!

Nature won’t let us stay in any one place too long- just long enough to gather the experience necessary for the soul’s unfolding. The Universe never gives you more than you are capable of handling.

In every person’s life there have been instances which seemed completely shattering, (I’ve had my share!) It takes perception and patience to see beyond what appears to be useless and painful. Appreciate that the larger system, the Good, remains intact no matter how chaotic everything in our own little world may seem. We live in a spiritual Universe that is governed by spiritual law and intelligence.

No matter how frightening a situation may be, it is still transitory. Only the Good is lasting. The rest ‘came to pass.’ Look back in your life and recall the times when you were frantic over some crisis or misfortune that seemed to be the end of everything. Where is that challenge now? Where are the people who were standing in the way of your Good?

When change seems to be THRUST upon you and it looks like it’s ‘happening TO you”, don’t get all hung up in the “story.” Sit back, wait for a deeper meaning to be revealed. It will!

If the wind of change is chafing your face lately, commit to NOT telling the story for at least 1 week – not even to yourself! Just be with it. Invite the answer to this question: What greater understanding, what deeper awareness of the Law’s operation in my life is this experience offering me? Then, sit back and enjoy the ride!

Oprah reveals “The Secret” Dr. Toni LaMotta comments

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

This coming Thursday, Oprah will host Rhonda Byrne, executive Producer of “The Secret” and several members of the ‘cast’. “The Secret” is a wonderful film and if you haven’t yet seen it, you can check it out on http://www.thesecret.tv

The Secret - which hasn’t been a secret to me in the last 12 years, is the Law of Attraction. This film is actually just the beginning of understanding the Law. On surface viewing, it can look like it’s all about material possessions. I’ve actually watched it 6 times already and intend to watch it over and over, because each time I hear/see something a bit different.

My understanding of the Law of Attraction is that it is absolute. What you focus on, increases. Whatever that is. I’ve discovered exactly why my life is what it is - the parts I love and the parts I’d like to see differently. It’s all about what I think/feel/focus on. So much of this is unconscious and I have found my work as a teacher and spiritual life coach is to help people unravel what they are continually saying to themselves that is creating the life they have.

I’d love to hear your experience on using the Law of Attraction and on watching “The Secret”.

Power of Focus and the Law of Attraction

Here’s a great story I want to share. It’s called, Carrot, Egg or Coffee? (You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.)

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water. In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs and the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil without saying a word. In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners.

She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, “Tell me, what do you see?”
“Carrots, eggs, and coffee,” she replied.

She brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they got soft. She then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg. Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled, as she tasted its rich aroma.

The daughter then asked, “What’s the point, mother?”

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity–boiling water–but each reacted differently.

The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak.

The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened.

The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water they had changed the water.

“Which are you?” she asked her daughter. “When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?”

Think of this: Which am I?
Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity, do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hours are the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate to another level?
Don’t let the storm overwhelm you. You show it how overwhelming you are!

The Coffee transforms the world around it by becoming one with it.
