Abundance is a Quality of God and a quality of the Universe. We certainly can see that in nature. Try counting the blades of grass, the stars in the sky, the grains of sand on a beach. Have you ever noticed that no matter what you think you’ll never have again in your life, MORE always shows up?  I used to live in New York and loved Broadway shows and went to see them all. The month before I went into a convent, my mom and I went to every show imaginable because I never thought I’d see one again. I’ve seen numerous ones since. We give up things and think we’ll never have them again. That’s seldom if ever true; there’s always more. You think there’s enough trouble in your life, and more shows up! There’s always more.

I once read that there were enough building materials for every person on this planet to have an estate, and enough food to feed everyone three times over, but it’s just not distributed. There is not a lack in the Universe. Where then must the discrepancy be? Anyone out there wondering, “How come I don’t have my share?” By now, you know the answer I’ll be giving:  it’s in our thinking. So, let’s focus now on how to THINK Abundance.

I would venture to say that there is some area of your life where you could use a boost, and some might even need a major overhaul. So, stop for a moment and think of something that you may want that you think is currently missing in your life. Got it? It may be health, money, a relationship, a new car, or a new house, whatever. All the books on prosperity that I have ever read say the same thing: everything that manifests in the physical world first starts with a DESIRE. We’ve got to get clear on what it is we want, and then when we ask, it is always given. So, if you are reading this and saying, “I don’t know”, well, then no wonder nothing shows up. It can’t show up if you don’t know. So you need to get very clear.

There are a lot of people who don’t want to want, because if they want and they don’t get, they think they will feel worse. So, they shut off all the wanting. We really don’t believe the Universe is abundant, so if we don’t want anything, we will never be disappointed. The Universe is telling us to get very clear. If you think you have everything, consider world peace. What you think you’d like more of doesn’t only have to be about accumulating things for yourself. If we get clear, it is always given.

IF you find subtle ways you are more in complaint than in joy -  this is no need for further criticism.  This is what we do to ourselves - for example, it’s not a problem if we get rightfully angry at something that happens, but we get into trouble when we get angry over our getting angry - and start to condemn ourselves. Our whole purpose in life is to come more and more to love ourselves.
If you don’t yet love yourself enough, you have your work cut out for you for another year.  In what area of your life have you forgotten that you are God?   — take a look for a moment at the list we gave you when you came in….  let’s pause and let Spirit show you the quality IT wants to reveal more of in you this year…

There is no need for becoming something you aren’t yet.  It’s not a matter of achieving more, learning more, getting better.  It’s a matter of simply remembering the TRUTH about ourselves. We are made in the image and likeness of God.  The qualities that we know are true about God are therefore, also true about us. We need only to claim them as our own.

Your best is going to change from moment to moment.  Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.

We all need to learn to love ourselves more – to accept what is – and what isn’t …and make it all okay!

I’m not sure where this quote came from but I think it fits here -”We learn wisdom from failure much more than from success.  We often discover what will do, by finding out what will not do; and probably he who never made a mistake never made a discovery.”

Don’t just study what others have to say – don’t mimic what others do – YOU have a purpose here – do YOUR best..

I was ordained as a New Thought Minister and The New Thought movement isn’t about learning Ernest Holmes and Charles and Myrtle Fillmore… What they have invited us to do is to experience what they have experienced…

There were times during my first few years in Ministry  that I wasn’t sure I was doing my best… I did all the things I’ve shared not to do – that’s how I knew to tell my students!!

We are NOT The creators of the Universe…The world is in continual evolution – We are responsible to be conscious of the process in our lives… We are co-creators.

When you recognize yourself as a co-creator with God, you have access to unlimited power and an unlimited future There is a beautiful description of co-creation in the words of Henry David Thoreau:

“I learned this, at least, by my experiment; that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. He will put some things behind, will pass an invisible boundary; new, universal and more liberal laws will begin to establish themselves around and within him; or the old laws be expanded, and interpreted in his favor in a more liberal sense, and he will live with the license of a higher order of beings.”

Once God puts something in our hearts for us to do, we are to lock in on what it is that has been called for us to do.  Our responsibility is to do what we know to do, We are responsible for the WHAT and we let God fill in the HOW

The most current wisdom I am learning AGAIN – is to Let GO – SURRENDER to the PROCESS of Life… that’s what it means to surrender to God – or to Good..

I’d like to close this passage with a piece sent to me by a friend–it’s the metaphor for our lives –

Rising against gusting breeze, a kite flies. Tethered but by a simple string, wind caressing its face, trailing tail behind, up, up, up it climbs. Flittering side to side.  Dipping, lilting, skirting, ever taunting its line, “Higher, higher, higher, ”

Let the string roll too rapidly from its spindle, and the wind loses its grasp. Hold on too tightly, and the kite can’t possibly rise. Loose and hold at the ‘just right’ moments, the kite soars. Effortlessly, serenely, flirting with the very heavens. You see, when it comes to kite flying, the essence is in tending the line. It’s in sensing the shifting gusts. It’s in being flexible, in knowing when to hold on, and when to let go.

THE TIME IS NOW –  And so it is.

Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

I am a stand for authentic communication…. For completing our past – and not carrying guilt or challenge from one day to the next.

One of the key messages from every Religion or Spiritual Master is about Living in the moment. If you practice only one spiritual discipline, I’d recommend this be it — DO WHAT YOU ARE DOING… Be where you are… Say what you mean and mean what you say… Don’t make assumptions about what someone else means or even what Life may mean… You MAKE IT ALL UP… IT doesn’t really mean Anything!! It’s better to live in the I don’t know….

An old Hasidic rabbi crosses the village square every morning on his way to the temple to pray. One morning, a large Cossack soldier, who happened to be in a vile mood, accosted him, saying, “Hey Rebby, where are you going?” And the rabbi said, “I don’t know.”

This infuriated the Cossack. “What do you mean, you don’t know? Every morning for twenty five years you have crossed the village square and gone to the temple to pray. Don’t fool me. Who are you, telling me you don’t know?”

He grabbed the old rabbi by the coat and dragged him off to jail. Just as he was about to push him into the cell, the rabbi turned to him, saying: “You see, I didn’t know.”

Make no assumptions – treat every experience as NEW – because it is – and when it comes to people – allow them to be new everyday as well.

I found this tidbit from George Bernard Shaw and thought it most appropriate. He wrote, “The only man who behaves sensibly is my tailor; he takes my measure anew each time he sees me, while all the rest go on with their old measurements and expect them to fit me.” It’s Always possible to have a NEW THOUGHT

Don Miguel says –  Nothing others do is because of you.  What others say and do is a projection of their own reality.  When you are immune to the opinions and actions of  others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

This has been a lesson I’ve taken to heart over and over again during these past few years… I take no blame and take no credit for the growth of any of my students. Life just IS – what has been – has been PERFECT – what IS is also PERFECT – There can be nothing less than that…

While God is personal to each of us, we are part of something so much bigger than we can ever imagine when we learn to see things from the highest perspective possible.

While I agree with Don Miguel not to take things personally – I also know the truth that we need to  Take EVERYTHING personally – in the sense that ALL of Life is a Mirror of our consciousness – NOTHING happens TO us – No one does anything against us…We are not Victims – we are truly at choice in EVERYTHING…

Where you are in consciousness has everything to do with what you see in experience.  Whatever happens in life – if you wish to change the circumstances – CHANGE your thinking – no without happens without a within first…  Everything begins with an idea..

Everything begins in consciousness… So, every change must be a change of consciousness….  Meditate on this DAILY – take it to bed with you at night and ask to learn the depth of its meaning.  I promise it will change your life… I know this one truth has changed mine!

Remember that this is a gradual process. There are Stages of the Spiritual Life-

1. Life is done TO ME
2. Life is done By Me
3. Life is done Through Me
4. Life is done AS ME..   – THE FATHER and I ARE ONE!

The first, and perhaps the most important of THE FOUR AGREEMENTS is: BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD

One of the key messages I’ve received and want to transfer to you is about BEING your word…Who do you say I AM? Jesus once asked his disciples, Who do you say I AM. Whoever you say you are is who you create yourself to be!

God answered the question by saying — I AM THAT I AM when the burning bush spoke to Moses – and each of us is defined by who we say we are.

It is vital that we ask continually – who am I being right now? Who do I have to be to achieve what I want to achieve or demonstrate more – whatever it is I desire? Our word is really synonymous with our self-definition.

And, being impeccable with your word means you are very careful about what you say after you say the words I AM in particular…. We define our lives by the way we see ourselves and we actually SPEAK our lives into being by our self-definition.

One of the most powerful uses of our word is in what we call Treatment or AFFIRMATIVE PRAYER. Those who have been in class with me over the years have learned a lot about how I required IMPECCABILITY with the very wording of that prayer First, in being absolutely clear on your INTENTION and your purpose – we get what we EXPECT not necessarily what we desire or ask for. We are godlings – so what we speak is creative – So, we want to be sure we Say only what we mean.

Be certain our words are words of Gratitude – for what we complain about or what we give praise for – is what we get more of….Whatever we focus on, increases. Emmet Fox teaches the Golden Key- turning from whatever may appear to be the problem or the challenge and focusing on TRUTH and GOD instead. (much more on that in the future, I promise!)

Come to know that there is a POWER for Good in the Universe and YOU can use it! Really come to KNOW that you KNOW and that when you speak your word, the Whole Universe supports you…

The most important Question you’ll ever answer – is Is the Universe a Friendly place? Your answer to that will determine your life’s experiences…
